New Window Covering Standards

Posted By: Jeff Thomas AANM Newsletter , Operations ,

The Window Covering Manufacturers Association announced approval of NEW window covering standards back in January. This new standard would require all blinds to be cordless and was originally scheduled to take effect in 2019.  Unfortunately, this NEW window covering standard has been moved up to December 15, 2018. Therefore all the window coverings manufactured after this date must comply with the NEW standards of being “CORDLESS,”  which means you have a very short window to purchase blinds with cords from the manufactures and your maintenance suppliers.  Keep in mind for budget purposes that cordless blinds will be 20%-30% more.
