Volunteer Opportunities
The best way to make the most of your membership is to become involved. If you are a first-time volunteer, the Associate/Membership Council is a great training ground for future service in other committees.

Action Committees
Affordable Housing Committee
The Affordable Housing Committee's mission is to promote the need, viability, and benefits of Affordable Housing through educating, training, and increasing awareness, while building relationships with owners, agents, and Federal, State, and Local agencies.
Education Committee
The Education Committee helps develop AANM's educational calendar, including topics and speakers for lunch meetings, educational seminars, and conferences, and coordinates national certification programs. This committee also designs and produces the marketing and communications for AANM.
Government & Community Affairs (GAC)
The GAC is responsible for reviewing and developing legislation and community relations affecting the multi-family housing industry at the State and local levels in New Mexico. This committee consists of 9 primary members, appointed by the Board of Directors.
IRO Committee
The overall goal of the IRO (Independent Rental Owners) forum is to guide current & new real estate owners through education and collaboration so they can be highly successful in their rental property investment endeavors.
Marketing Committee
This committee comprises both Primary and Associate Members. This committee is working together to promote all that the Apartment Association has to offer its members through social media, uniform messaging, and presentation.
Event Committees
Trade Show
The Trade Show showcases our valuable vendors that provide services and products to the property management industry. Speakers of national and local acclaim are on hand to provide continuing education for all levels of positions. In addition, the banquet proves to be a fantastic networking event and a time to cut loose and have some fun!
Charity Gala Committee
This committee will plan the annual charity gala, scheduled for Friday, November 15, 2019. The committee sells attendance registrations, a la carte sponsorships, collects donations for raffle and silent auction, and coordinates the evening's events. Must be willing to assist on the day of the event and during the evening.
Cornhole Committee
Golf Classic Committee
This committee plans the annual Golf Classic. All proceeds benefit a local charity. The committee sells a la carte sponsorships, players, and lunch attendance, and must be willing to assist at the event.
Maintenance Mania®
This committee will plan the Annual Maintenance Mania® event. Committee members help develop, implement, and sell attendance to the event. All committee members must be willing to help with set-up and teardown and during the event, to ensure it runs efficiently.
