Earning the prestigious Certified Pool/Spa Operator® Certification (CPO® Certification) gives you the latest information available for commercial and residential pools and spas. Earn your certification by taking a traditional 2-day classroom course and passing the exam.

Every person in the state of New Mexico who operates and/or maintains a swimming pool or sauna/hot tub for a commercial or public entity is required to have a valid pool certificate.

A CPO® Certification provides individuals with the basic knowledge, techniques, and skills of pool and spa operations. This training has helped protect millions of swimmers by reducing hazards at aquatic facilities. **NOTE: AANM's Board of Directors has adopted a cancellation policy effective July 16, 2010: A 30% cancellation fee will be applied for any cancellations received ten (10) calendar days or less prior to the seminar date. Meet your instructor!

Juan Serrano is the owner of Acuakare Pool Service and has been in the swimming pool industry for about 20 years. He earned his Certified Pool Operator® certification in 2010 and went on to become an CPO Instructor for the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (formerly known as NSPF) in 2011. For the last 12 years he has been teaching the CPO course. His hands-on experience on both the residential and the commercial swimming pool business, enabling him to identify with his students from various viewpoints and varying backgrounds.
